Dear Annie,

Thank you for a splendid article on Temples. It will assist many to understand much about the Temple and the sacred salvic ordinances that take place therein.

I don’t know if you are familiar with the book, “The Temple and its Ministry at the Time of Jesus,” by Alfred Edersheim, the 19th Century German Bible scholar, but it has several excellent sketches of Herod’s Temple including the Temple paraphernalia. It is well out of copyright and would ‘perk up’ your illustrations.

If you do not have access to a copy, I have one in my library and will be pleased to scan and e-mail them to you.

Yes at some point in time there will be a temple built at “New Jerusalem.”
But more a City of Zion is to be established there, and the temple will follow. But this is still yet to come.

Thank you for taking time to reply–my question is about the building of the temple on the sight dedicated by Joseph Smith in 1832 and at a place “appointed by the finger of the Lord”. It was the intent to build this temple at a designated spot in the New Jerusalem; is it being built or will it be soon?
