Mormonism is a unique and often misunderstood religion. Mormons believe in the gospel of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This gospel is what He taught and established while living on earth over two millennia ago. Mormons believe the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith and contains every doctrine and ordinance necessary for each person’s happiness in this life and the life to come.  When the gospel was restored in its fulness, the authority to act in the name of God was also restored.  This “priesthood power” is the only power on earth that can have effect in heaven. It is found only in the Mormon Church, which is led by a true prophet of God. The Mormon Church is officially called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
